EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} X4308 ROY {Sir Henry Royce} /JT11/HP14.12.28. Speedometer No.B.563, 800. 14/52 axle gear ratio. With small type Dial. Upon receipt of yours EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 3/T10.12.28 we duly communicated with the A.T. Speedometer Co.Ltd. relative to an examination and report on the above instrument and this morning we are in receipt of a letter from makers copy of which we give below for your information and further action as necessary. We shall be glad to receive your comments following perusal. "We find this instrument has been shockingly "treated, our seals are not intact and the "instrument has evidently been taken down. "The Hair Spring is over the Crossing, which "would account for the fact that it is not "correct. In addition to all this, the "whole instrument is thoroughly oiled up with "gear box oil. "The cost of putting the instrument in order "will be 13/6d and we are confident you will "find on its return to you that the readings "will be correct". ROY. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
