Experimental Test Report.
At present 40/50 cars have one fibre friction washer in one pivot. It is proposed to fit friction washers to both pivots and change the material from fibre to lead-bronze.
Road Test Report.
Adopted by Springfield.
We have proved that 40/50 chassis when they have been on the road for a time, are improved by slightly more friction in the steering. It has the disadvantage that the customers first impression of a new car is that the steering is heavy.
