P.III DYNAMO FAILURES. We are, of course, very concerned with the P.III dynamo failures in customers hands, and are doing all we can to locate the source of the trouble. The attached comments from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} contain some suggestions. Personally, we do not believe that the majority of P.III dynamo failures can be attributed to the voltage regulator as a unit, though its installation conditions may have some bearing on the problem. We say this because the Bentley uses the same regulator and fuse, and though there are five times as many Bentleys on the road as P.III's, during the last two months we have had three failures in customers hands on the latter chassis, and only one as far as we can ascertain on a Bentley.
