X 3910 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} at W. c. to EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}4/1/25-2-33. "LIMPET" ASBESTOS. Messrs. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} W. Roberts of Leeds have sent us a copy of their letter to you of yesterday. The original idea we had was that the further body for the Experimental Bentley chassis Park Wards have just put in hand should be sprayed in London by Roberts as a demonstration of their process. But on further consideration we came to the conclusion it would perhaps be better to make use of a body for a standard chassis for the demonstration, and we therefore selected the new body Barkers have in hand for Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s chassis 104-MY and we are going to have this sprayed in about a week's time at Barker's Works. So that you might investigate the advantages claimed for "Limpet" asbestos EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} proposed to suggest that the upholstery should be stripped out of one of the "Peregrine" bodies you already have and the body shell treated by Roberts at their own Factory at Leeds. Treatment of such body will give you an opportunity of ascertaining whether the application of "Limpet" asbestos makes any real difference. We are setting out the position as we understand it in case EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has not yet had an opportunity of writing you on the matter. Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} | ||
