S/W. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}..from Bkl Copy to Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} Bkl.5/11.7.35. SpectreCodename for Phantom III. I am sending you the drawings Mr. Clark has been able to make, and would like you to look them over before block-making is put in hand There are still two drawings to be made namely, - Chassis - view from above. " view broadside. As it will not be convenient for Mr. Clark to draw the former from "above", I am wondering whether it would not be possible for you to sling it up on its side for him. It need not necessarily have the wheels on. Mr. Clark will be in Derby in connection with some work on the "Kestrel" engine early next week - I think Tuesday, and I have asked him to discuss the various questions with you. So far the drawings we have got for the catalogue are - engine, nearside. " offside. " front view. front wheel suspension. Equaliser arm? In connection with the last two I should like you to provide me with a caption, and check the sub-captions Mr. Clark has pencilled in. If there are any further chassis items which you think should be illustrated in the catalogue perhaps you will let me know. I would rather not have any more, unless you think it desirable, as the production of the two chassis drawings will take a long time, and we cannot afford to delay the production of the catalogue which must go to press on the 2nd September.
