As requested over the telephone to-day, we have pleasure in giving you the chemical analysis of the Nickel Chrome Case Hardening Steel, two bars of which we have yesterday despatched to Messrs. Ransome and Marles.
Carbon............. .10 to .20.%
Sulphur............ .04 max.%
Phosphorous........ .04 max.%
Chrome............. .75 to 1.1%
Nickel............. 2.75 to 4.%
Manganese.......... .3 to .5.%
Silicon............ .3 max. %
We would also confirm the heat treatment that we give this steel, as follows:-
