X766 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from CJ. Copy to R.{Sir Henry Royce} re Over-Heating. CJ22/E4/5/25 Referring to the final paragraph of your memo on carburetter heating, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG1/5/25, I hope that we shall never see again any reference which would be indicative of a tendency to belittle the nuisance of overheating [crossed out] overheated water. You say: 'Overheating is a seasonable complaint'. Over-heating is a damnable nuisance. It cannot be too much exaggerated. The tendency of the Experimental Dept. to belittle it shows an absence of sympathy with owners. The foundation of the business is satisfied owners and no pains must be spared to remove all causes for dissatisfaction. The overheating of water causes grave dissatisfaction. CJ. | ||
