COMPLAINTS FROM KINGSBURY.

BENTLEY S.U. CARBURETTER.

On looking into this complaint, we find that early in Bentley production when the flooding pipes were introduced, it was necessary to face the boss on the float chamber cover by .060 - .070, to remove the transverse slots.

The facing operation thus made the section thickness very thin indeed, and on a 3½ Litre carburetter cover, just checked, this section is approximate .020 thick. The new carburetter covers have been built up inside the filter housing to counteract the effect of the facing, and no further trouble should be experienced on later carburetters.

There is still, however, possibility of further failures of old type covers fitted prior to October 1936.
