SEQUENCE STARTER MAIN SWITCH UNIT SPECIFICATION OF PRODUCTION INSPECTION & TEST I. GENERAL INSPECTION. (1) Ascertain that the copper laminated contacts of the main switch unit offer a satisfactory bedding in correct sequence on the copper contact plate of the main switch pillar. This bedding is very important. (2) Ascertain that the copper flexible connections on the switch shows no sign of fraying. (3) Examine also the carbon contacts for correct surface bedding, when the switch is depressed by a force applied to the main lever (armature). It is important that the switch be not depressed by pressing the top carbon contact arm. It should also be ascertained that the carbons are not cracked or chipped through tightening the securing clamp. (4) It should be verified particularly that all screws upon which electrical contacts depend are thoroughly tight. (5) Inspect generally the small Eureka wire oooin resistance which is connected in parallel with the main switch operating coil. (6) It should be verified that there is not more than .004" clearance between the main switch armature and main support when the former is fully depressed to the armature stop. | ||
