The following work has been done on this car since it returned to Derby :-

(1) Frame ties have been removed.
(2) The rear road springs have been reduced by 100 lbs. - front springs 50 lbs - they are now 700 front and 650 lbs. rear.
(3) Semi isolation fitted.
(4) Mechanics type joint and propeller shaft overhauled and modified.
(5) Slipper wheels and slipper drive adjusted.
(6) Starter motor clutch adjusted.
(7) Pistons. We have had difficulty in overcoming the squawk and leakage with the 4-ringed pistons. The engine is now fitted with standard 20 HP. pistons with 5 standard rectangular rings.

We consider that the car is now considerably improved on the following points :-

There are no noticeable crankshaft vibrations. The performance at low speeds is better than the average car. This is due to the smaller diameter wheels. The engine smoothness at high speeds is very good indeed, much better than standard.

The springing at the front of the car and the steering are not very good. With 25 lbs. tyre pressure there is a distinct tendency for wobbles at high speeds - 55/60 MPH.
The steering is improved with higher pressure in the front tyres.
