For the attention of Mr. S.H. Grylls.

Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter, reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}4/R, of the 31st ultimo, and have to-day received the sample of used Gargoyle Hypoid Gear Lubricant taken from the 25/30 hp Rolls-Royce car which has been running in France after a period of 6,000 miles. We have now passed this sample to our Laboratory and will communicate with you later when the results are to hand.

At the time of writing our Laboratory have not quite completed their tests on the two samples of "EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}" oil, samples A and B, but we hope to receive the results this week and will advise you particulars.

Your letter reminds us that we did not acknowledge receipt of these two samples or your communication of the 12th ultimo, and would ask you to accept our apologies for this omission.
