TESTS FOR CAMSHAFT VIBRATIONS. X3423 [crossed out] X634

Rubber blocks were jambed between frame and brakes links of engine suspension with the object of damping out vibrations, but made no difference whatever on road.

Suspension made practically solid by locking connection rod between links and preventing any movement on front end of engine.

[Drawing of a mechanical link with a handwritten note: Tubing fastened in to prevent motion.]

Result :-

Vibrations cut down a fair amount. The low speed being about unnoticeable and 15 to 22 m.p.h. period being much improved by having a shorter duration being in this case 16 to 20 m.p.h. and less intehnsity.

This was further improved by locking jaws on links at A.{Mr Adams}

Tests were also made with links 'A' locked only. Tubing holding connection rod being taken away.

This was in itself a great improvement over standard, vibrations being considerably lessened.
