BENTLEY CYLINDER BLOCK (B.144.HK.{Col. T. Harker - Sales})

Some time ago the cylinder block off the above car was returned on account of premature excessive bore wear after 12,000 miles.

We cannot trace the actual wear figures and would be pleased if you could forward us a record of them.

The cylinder block in question has been bored out .015 oversize and we have new Aerolite pistons to suit, and are going to send them complete to you for fitment to a customer's car when the opportunity occurs, as we consider that in this way more useful data will be obtained than if fitted to an Exptl. car.

You will no doubt be able to pick the type of customer where you can measure the bores after a certain mileage to as-certain whether the original excessive wear was due to something peculiar to this block or the way the car was driven.

It would also be interesting to know whether the replacement block fitted to B.144.HK.{Col. T. Harker - Sales} is better for wear than the original one removed.
