Re Experiment 168.

With reference to the pivots and experiment 168 we want to know the margin of safety on which we are running that is to say, we want a test that can be applied to those that we think are of sufficient strength, to find out how much better they are than those that have been proved to be weak. Any pattern than departing from the standard can be compared with one of known value.

To do this satisfactorily it will, I think, be necessary to rig up in the lathe a revolving test as suggested by Mr Hadin.
