To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to CJ. RG.{Mr Rowledge} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} ORIGINAL 40/50 H.P. X3056 X3236 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LGL.4.24. We attach sheet giving H.P. & figures taken on a 40/50 HP. engine with the present standard scheme of exhaust pipes, with the pipes arranged to LeC.1832/3, and with the Derby exhaust scheme which we are at present running on the cars. It will be seen that there is comparatively little loss with this scheme/on LeC.1832/3. We are, however, trying this scheme with a larger down-pipe. We found that the larger down-pipe decreases the loss with the Derby scheme. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
