428 400 428 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}4/JH. 25th. August, 1941. Messrs. Vandervell Products Ltd., Western Avenue, Park Royal, LONDON.W.3. For the attention of C.A.Vandervell Esq. Dear Sirs, On 7th. October of last year we wrote to you enquiring about some gearbox layshaft bushes for our B.V. chassis. You replied and suggested some modifications to our scheme in accordance with your print SK.82. We incorporated these modifications on our drawing but decided not to pursue the project until we had obtained more running experience on our existing bearings. We have now decided that we wish to try your bushes in our gearbox and enclose prints of our RE.1690 and RE.1691 showing the assembly and detail of the bushes. We will require 12 bushes to RE.1691 for test purposes. Will you please let us know the approximate cost of the bushes and tools. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
