To improve 20 HP. steering. Boxed Section: X No. 5425 Drawing No. Sch 2201 Part List A Scrap and replace at all costs including Chassis already delivered to Customers. B Scrap and replace on Chassis in Works. C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test. D Use existing stock Alteration effective on future Chassis. Experimental Test Report. This modification consists of putting a spring load of 600 lbs. on the cross steering tube ball ends. A 10,000 miles test on 12-EX shews that unit loads such as these, do not cause excessive wear on the ball and pad. Road Test Report. Run 2000 miles on 10-G-111 and 11-G-111. This eliminates the necessity for pivots as it cures low speed wobbles. Also reduces road shocks and joggles. Main dimensions of the tube unaltered. Bump and road tests however proceeding.
