X728. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rg.{Mr Rowledge} RECEIVED ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/GEA2/EB.16.7.30. Pads for fixing between Axles and Springs of Motor Chassis. The Le Bois Bakelise, have sent us the attached sample (to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}) Pad or Packing Piece, for fixing between Axles and Springs of Motor Cars. These Pads are made of wood, impregnated with synthetic resin by a special process. The senders claim, that the Pads will be found to have very high mechanical strength, and to be unaffected by heat or changing atmospheric conditions, and to be very efficient in preventing relative movement of the springs and axle.
