To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R. {Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} +8420 R8/M24.10.25. 4-WHEEL BRAKES - PHANTOM AND INDIA. X. 8420 X. 5940 I have suggested that it is possible you will find an improvement in altering the arrangement of springs so that the servo has a direct pull backwards at a spring of about half the hold off springs on the front axle. This should considerably reduce the friction required at the suspension of the floating lever. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} is sending you the particulars I have suggested should be tested. We will go over the Phantom arrangement to see how the friction on this suspension link can be improved. R. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
