to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to [REDACTED] SECRET ORIGINAL INDIA 3 EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/17.7.28. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 4449 / X5800 RE LAMPS FOR 12.G.4. We send herewith N.Sch 2656. shewing the arrangements of the headlamps which Mr.Royce wishes fitted to 12.G.4. All the lamps have semi-matt black finish. WING LAMPS. Chrysler Type with rear red lights obscured HEAD LAMPS. Lucas RB.{R. Bowen} 71. CENTRE LAMP. Stephan Grebel 180m.m. permanantly dipped & twisted. A two way switch throws either the head or the centre lamp into action. The main switch cut-out both. We have sent to you a Bosch Switch for the sloping foot-board. We have indicated as an alternative a two-way switch on the instrument board, but so far have been unable to procure a suitable one. The Lucas Dimming Switch could be modified to perform the function. We feel that the instrument board switch is likely to be preferred. The head lamp brackets are those we have sent you for the present "Twenty". Owing to the smaller wings the lamps will come wider appart than on N.Sch2633. We indicate the wiring we wish to use. We do not like the present scheme as it does not allow the wing to be taken off without pulling the wires out of the wing-stay. We would like the scheme indicated here and already in use on Phantom to be adopted for the "Twenty" as soon as possible. We were under theimpression that we had done something in this direction. For the other two India 3 cars we shall be sending you a complete design for the headlamps with dippers. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
