X7230 By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} SECRET. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M15. 8. 29. Copy to Ss.{S. Smith} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SS.{S. Smith} EXHAUST SYSTEM. X7230 We send herewith N. scheme 2932., shewing a ribbed cast aluminium front expansion box. The pipe diameter has been reduced to 2¼" outside in accordance with the recent modifications to the silencer, and the manifold will have to be modified to suit. We expect E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will be sending you this in due course. It will be seen that we have brought the down pipe in towards the centreline of the engine, but the inner edge is in the same position as the present down pipe. The material is intended to be the latest heat resisting aluminium. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
