SPITTING IN SILENCER. Y8990
The more we see of this complaint the more certain we are that in the main it is caused by badly bedding in butterfly throttles.
We have observed that the Works have been leaving an unnecessary amount of end clearance for the butterfly and now the drawings are being altered to obviate this trouble.
The fit of the butterfly can be tested by holding it up to the light.
We suggest that you take a bad example and make a really good job of the throttle to satisfy yourself that it cannot be cured in this way.
