contd :- -2- rear axle control will be 30.5 lbs. lighter than the present standard 40/50. We consider that the spring makers are not making the best use of the metal at their disposal as demonstrated by the American front springs and the present example. We are taking up the question of spring weights with them. We do not know of a single case of rear spring failure on the 40/50 since the introduction of the thin leaf cantilever, and we must therefore be well within the safe maximum stress and stress range on these items.
