1110 To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. C. W/S. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}25.1.40. CLUTCHES ON CARS STORED. With reference to Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SD.10/MW.24.1.40, as we do not lay up cars for storage in the Experimental Dept. we have no experience of clutches which have become stuck. We can say, however, that all Phantom III's, Wraiths and 4¼-litre Bentleys are fitted with a Thermoid clutch lining material which may be susceptible to sticking. Clutch springs are not likely to become weak as a result of being jacked out, nor do we know of any disability which might arise from this procedure. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
