ELMSTEADHenry Royce's home in West Wittering, WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. NR. CHICHESTER, SUSSEX. EVL/23.11.26. November, 23rd. 1926. Messrs. Barker & Co.Ltd., Olaf Street, Latimer Road, Shepherds Bush, LONDON.2. Dear Sirs, Re 7-EX. Mr. Royce has now had several opportunities of trying his car since I took delivery of it, and wishes me to bring to your notice the following features which we feel are not quite as they should be. (1) The wind screen leaks very badly in the following places:- Between the top of the screen and the front rail of the head. By the rubber between the top and bottom glasses. At the vertical joints between the top glasses and the side staunchions and at the centre vertical joint. end (2) Squeaks occur at each of the instrument board where the side veneers touch it. The slight movement here causes the noise. We suggest that there should be a clearance between these two pieces. See sketch. SQUEAKS HERE (3) The fixing of the door stop straps is still very inadequate. Most have already nearly pulled out. On the front doors we suggest that the fitting on the door be used also on the front hinge pillar. The straps to the front door need lengthening. We suggest that the rear door straps be fastened to the hinge pillar by a fixing as illustrated in the sketch below:- Contd. | ||
