With reference to the damaged thrust bearing which we removed from the pinion of the rear axle of the above car and which you took back to Derby with you, we do not remember whether we gave you the mileage which it had covered.

For your information, we fitted the bearing on the 8.3.38, as per instructions contained in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/PJH2I/JH. 28.2.38. The car had then covered I3.859 Kms. and, when we removed it, the car had covered 26.887 Kms.

You will observe from the above that the bearing (GB.2680) did not last very long.
