Re Chassis 10-EX - F.H.R. - Barker Open Touring Car.
----------------------------------------------------------

We are in receipt of your memo of yesterday's date, reference D/BP/Y1371/H enclosing R.A.C. Application Form for Triptyque, cheque value £50 and Counter Indemnity in duplicate. The Application Form is not signed by FHR, and as we have already reserved a berth on the cross-Channel boat on PN{Mr Northey}'s instructions in the name of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, we are treating the whole application as coming from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} You should therefore temporarily invoice Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} with the car, as per usual practice.

With regard to the berth on the boat, it may interest you to know that due to the coal strike the Southern Railway have completely suspended all services to Boulogne, whether from Folkestone or Dover. Dieppe services in the morning are only running 3 times a week in each direction, and the Dover-Calais services are also being curtailed, and as you may imagine, are completely full up several days in advance. PN{Mr Northey} is proceeding to France with 7-LC on the boat leaving Dover at 12.55 on Monday next for Calais, but the R.A.C. were unable to obtain 2 berths and we immediately accepted their offer for a berth for 10-EX on the boat leaving Dover at 5.45 p.m. for Calais.

Kindly advise Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} of the contents of the above.

With regard to the I.T.P. we have a photograph of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} duly stamped by the R.A.C. available, and will have the papers ready for his arrival with the car in London on Monday morning next.

As requested, we are returning to you herewith the Counter Indemnities duly completed by BJ and the writer, and would ask you to arrange for the Bank Guarantee to be sent to us first thing to-morrow morning.

Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}/Mac.{Mr Macintosh}

Enclosures.
