BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} (BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is struck through) C. to BJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (BJ. is struck through) S E C R E T. ORIGINAL (stamped) R6/M7.5.28. PHANTOM - MODIFIED RADIATOR, BONNET, AND POSSIBLY DASHBOARD. X 7250 (handwritten, struck through) 7260 (handwritten) There are certain modifications for the Show chassis which should be made to G.2. 'B' series. Apparently they affect the sideplates of the radiator, the bonnet, and possibly the dash. Have you particulars from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}, and can we put the modifications on G.2. 'B' series, without cost, or with some cost, in scrap? This is for an immediate improvement in appearance, and is very much desired by the coachbuilders. It is nothing to do with the improved N. schemes 2593/4. It is suggested for the "SS{S. Smith}" chassis, although anything will do to get this "SS{S. Smith}" chassis on trial. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
