WST X6016 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Ph. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Ox. E.6/HP.9.6.32. re Burning of Side Lamp Bulbs In reply to your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.4/KT8.6.32, the intention when fitting the 40/50 HP. dynamo to the 20-HP. chassis was to introduce more resistance into the half charge scheme than is used on the 40/50 HP. to reduce the half charge to the point where the cutting-in in daylight would occur at the same m.p.h. on each chassis. On the 40/50 dynamo curves we observe that the daylight cutting in occurs at 13.5 m.p.h. which would correspond to 10.5 m.p.h. on the 20-HP. chassis with the same dynamo and resistance. We should be glad if you would find out what increased resistance is necessary to bring this 10.5 back to 13.5, and what reduction in output will result. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
