X5430 To BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG29.10.27. INDIA 3. X5770 X5430 With reference to BJ17/E24.10.27. It is R's intention to revise the 20 HP. on the lines of the proposed revised Phantom (EAC.4.) This will include :- New cyl. head. Modified crankshaft. Slipper wheel. Altered position of carburetter. Front axle control - etc. As a result of all this we hope the car will be more powerful. The object of making the chassis longer is to do away with the two types of steering. The intention is that there shall be no upright steering for the 20 HP. - they shall all be raked steerings. In order to give the same body space as we have at present with the upright steering, it will be necessary to lengthen the chassis. The alteration should improve the appearance of the car. We have very few instructions as regards the modified 20 HP., and we think it will be a considerable time before WW. will have cleared up the Phantom so that they can give attention to this job.
