X4094 He/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}S/KT. May 1st 1933. The Adamant Engineering Co, Ltd, Dallow Road, Luton. For the attention of Commdr. Matravers. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of the 27th April. We propose to carry out some efficiency tests on the steering of which we complain, and when we have the figures, perhaps it will be worth while you coming up to discuss them with us. In the meantime we are sending you a drawing of the steering column and box which we are proposing to fit to our new Bentley car, and should like to know whether you have a standard size which you recommend for this job. With regard to the column, we could treat the matter in exactly the same way as the 40/50. We consider that the print of the box we are sending to you indicates an oversize of steering for the car in question which only weighs 30 cwt, and we want to use something smaller if possible, as weight is of primary importance. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. Attached. FB.151 FB.61. | ||
