COPY. REPORT NO.E.126. -on- Trials of Dicks "Ilo.H.S." Oil, known as L.1., in Viper Engine. A series of tests have been carried out with this oil in a "Viper" engine in S.E.5a machine. Flights of 2 hours, 1 1/2 hours and 1 1/3 hours were made at 4,000 to 5,000 feet altitude, the oil tank used being of standard pattern. The general running, consumption, pressures and temperatures are quite normal. TEST 1. 2 hours duration. Oil consumption 6.75 pints per hour. Cruising speed. Time mins. Atmos.Temp. Engine Temp.
