-2- Attempts to measure the oil temperature by means of a glass thermometer, sent it right off the scale, viz., 112°C. We have now arranged an adaptor for a Negretti's Zambra Thermometer. We noted that both rear rubber buffers had completely collapsed due to cracks in the rubber, and that the frame is bulged out on both sides by the impact of the axle on full bump. The ball pin was loose in the roll rod arm on the o.s., due to the locking plate never having been entered correctly. We have finished fitting the new o.s. spring anchorage and threaded shackle pin, and the men have returned to Chateauroux. I have arranged to remain in Paris and meet Roberts with the Wraith to-morrow, and continue with him to Chateauroux. The faulty parts will be returned in due course.
