Chassis. Copy to Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} and Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1300 23rd January, 1942. EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1/ST.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Messrs. Burman & Sons, Ltd., Ryland Road, BIRMINGHAM, 15. Attention of Mr. S. Burman. Dear Sirs, Two steering wheels for the two experimental steering boxes which you supplied to us some little time ago are being manufactured by Messrs. Wilmot Breeden Ltd., and they have no tools for splining the hub bores. As I believe these are standard splines of yours, have you any tools for the job, and if so would it be possible for you to do this operation for us? If you are able to do this, would you prefer to do it on the finished steering wheels or on the hubs, prior to assembly in the steering wheel proper? We very much hope you will be able to oblige us by doing this splining, and if so we will arrange for Messrs. Wilmot Breeden Ltd. to deliver to you the wheels or hubs, as the case may be, as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, [Signature] | ||
