To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c.c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c.c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c.c. to Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.22.9.34. BENTLEY. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}9/E.19.9.34. When you ran the streamlined Bentley car this had the higher compression. One of your criticisms was that the engine detonated too readily and you considered it was not the sort of car you would like to sell a customer. We agree if a man likes to use special fuels and decarbonise more frequently it is quite a practical job. The car we are preparing for Lp.{Mr Lappin} will be running with the higher compression and if you like we could alter Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}'s. car but the approval of the higher compression cannot be established on a short run. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
