It has been found that in order to remove the cylinder head on the Wraith, for decarbonising, it is necessary to split the fan assembly by removing the blades from their shaft, to prevent them fouling the filler orifice and water pipe on the header tank. This necessitates undoing eight 2.B.A. nuts before the bolts holding the blades can be removed it is then still necessary to slack off the nut securing the eccentric adjustment of the pulley, and prise off the fan belt.

It is felt that a modification to this assembly, would, besides facilitating work on the engine, also reduce service cost.
