GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}5/R.22.4.37. 35-EX. We are about to standardise the three petrol pump scheme on the dashboard, as fitted to 35-EX. From our experience in England we think that it may be more difficult to start the engine when hot when there are three petrol pumps than with two, owing to the fact that the level in the float chamber rises a greater amount. Will you, therefore, please carry out tests on your cars, first with three pumps, and then with two pumps, and let us know whether you can find any difference in the difficulty of not starting. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} considers this an urgent experiment, and we think you will have to do the changeover several times to be certain of the result.
