With reference to your Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}4/HR.25.9.34. the reason that we have had to change a considerable number of high tension leads is that the leads themselves are of such a nature that they swell where they pass between the induction manifold and the small water supply pipe to the manifold. The leads swell with the heat and there is frequent-ly a certain amount of oil, with the result that we have had definite cases where shorting has taken place and in al-most every case, it appears to us desirable that the leads should be replaced after about 10,000 miles. The insulation of the leads does not appear suit-able for withstanding the effect of heat or oil. K/Pk. | ||
