To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (Struck through) Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Bentley Performance. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}MD.12.12.33 I am very much interested to read the report about the higher compression cylinder head with larger inlet valves. The increase in power as per the chart is certainly, as you say, appreciable. I rather think that there must be a typing error in the reference to 7,000 miles in the third paragraph and that it should be 700 because the last paragraph says: Should it complete 1000 miles satisfactorily, etc. etc. I feel that this matter and other matters such as are referred to in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Am.L/M.11.12.33, Rubber Box Engine Mounting, ought to come up for discussion at our next Derby conference with a view to our commencing to draw up a specification of the next batch of Bentleys - by 'next batch' I mean after the material for 400 now on order.
