Intermittent dynamo fault involving the cut-out and excessive sparking, requesting an opinion on the cause.

brush seemed O.K., the dynamo would not function. I found that the cut-out was not making contact, but when I made the contact, the dynamo functioned but there was excessive sparking at the control brush. I switched dynamo off, and then on; the same result happening again. The cut-out appears to be O.K., the points are quite good, and all the brushes and connections appear to be good. After switching dynamo on once or twice, it started to function O.K. I should be much obliged if Mr. Clark would send along his opinion of the cause of this.
