E.A.C.
-----

Mr.Cowen, as you are probably aware, was down to discuss ways and means of getting some output of E.A.C.

They are principally wanting 100 of these chassis very quickly, and a policy was agreed upon.

It is also urgent and important that a number of chassis are despatched on or before May 2nd. for trials purposes, when I understand the announcement is being made to the public.

CJ. has agreed that we should push ahead with 100 chassis and has also agreed that in order to do this a model chassis should be established that Sales and Works will agree upon.

Will Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} in conjunction with Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} and EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} arrange such a model, so that when the Works have agreed upon this model it can be submitted to Sales? It is a most important and urgent matter, possibly you might consider the best way would be for Mr.Maddocks to prepare one of the trials chassis that we are now working on and submit it to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} It would be a good thing if this model could be established this week.

We should like to get 20 chassis in a fit state for despatch by the end of this month.

The first essential cars, however, are:-

(1) The Barker Landaulet, already in our possession for changing engine etc. and is well advanced.

(2) The London Open Trials, also in our possession and well advanced.

(3) PN.{Mr Northey} Trials, - a new chassis to be fitted with an enclosed Cabriolet body which Sales have already finished.

(4) Provincial Trials, - a new chassis to be fitted with an open touring body.
