HIGH SPEED STEERING WOBBLES.

We believe R.{Sir Henry Royce} has either spoken or written to you some further suggestions on steering wobbles.

It would be of interest to us to know whether the pivot vertical in the centre of the wheel has any influence on steering wobbles. With the Michelin disc wheels it looks as though it were possible to fake up a chassis with this arrangement. We are looking into the question of the design of a front wheel with this character-istic, and any information in advance that you can give us would be of assistance.

We wired you yesterday saying that R.{Sir Henry Royce} was interested in the effectiveness of the radius rods on wobbles, if any. The idea of this is that the stiffness of the longitudinal control of the axle may be affecting the point about which the wheel is precessing. The radius rods would give us a max. stiffness.
