To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to CJ. " " WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} " " PN.{Mr Northey} " " C. FUTURE POLICY - Febro. (Handwritten) ORIGINAL. (Stamped) R1/G19/6/20. 6 EX. (Handwritten) 21 JUN 1920 (Stamped) Policy * (Handwritten) X.3923 RE CHASSIS 6 EX. X.180 Do not be in a hurry with chassis 6 EX. if it is RECEIVED (Stamped) not perfect, let it stand over for a few days longer. We understand you are bringing chassis 6 EX. when it is ready, calling for Mr. Northey in London so that we can discuss the best way of introducing modifications and new designs. The position I anticipate will be that we shall have on test such a large variety of new designs and modifications of old designs that nobody will be able to tell, not even ourselves,* what will be our future manufacturing intentions. It is difficult to foretell what units we may be able to introduce into manufacture from time to time, but there still will come a precise moment when probably a considerable change will be made, say, a new engine; this will present the greatest difficulties. Perhaps it would be best for Mr. Wormald and yourself to come representing the Works, picking up Mr. Northey and Mr. Cowen in London to represent Sales. Personally, I do not think buyers will consider any other parts of much importance that we are likely to introduce, except the engine. !!? (Handwritten) R.{Sir Henry Royce} HOW INCORRECT !
