Sole Manufacturers of THE GIRLING UNIVERSAL BRAKE. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Robotham. First of all we should just like to thank you for the courtesy extended to Mr. Pratt and the writer whilst on our visit to your factory yesterday. We have despatched per post tonight eight shoes with the B Z linings on. As we know from experience this lining grows in the initial stages we should be very pleased if you will make sure that there is sufficient clearance before you start real hard tests on same, so as to make sure the linings are bedded down and there is no chance of it growing and seizing in the drums. If these linings cure the fade out we should be very pleased if you could supply us with a new front axle when we could put on our own compensating device, and we could then definitely guarantee first class GIRLING BRAKES, but we should at the same time respectfully state that we should like the chassis here so that we could layout the geometry and make sure the linkage was in every way O.K. for GIRLING BRAKES. Kindly rest assured that any further tests experiments or help you may desire from us will be gladly given. Yours faithfully, for NEW HUDSON LTD., [Signature] WORKS MANAGER. | ||
