NEEDLE ROLLER LOWER PIVOT BEARING.B.111.
--------------------------------------

Please receive herewith blueprints of FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}129 which show the application of a needle roller bearing to the lower end of the pivot of the Bentley lll. The outer race and rollers are the same as those used in the Wraith scheme FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}97. The main scheme shews a modified yoke piece, but a subsidiary scheme shews how the present yoke piece boss can be used if desired.

A new pivot pin is required for this scheme, and the pivot machining is altered. The lower bearing cap is also altered in machining. The thrust washer is increased in size, and we suggest that the corresponding Wraith piece should be used. Lubrication details are not altered.

The modification to the yoke piece referred to above should be included in the detail of the new yoke piece, giving increased lock and zero castor angle now being made.

These changes call for modification to the present dies, and not new dies.
