JNL/KM Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby. For the attention of Mr. N. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Chandler. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 6th of December enquiring for clutch spring insulating pads. We supply these in large quantity in our quality VM.20 but the usual thickness is .1". The samples enclosed labelled A show the rough finish which is obtained by plain punching out, the samples B we have made by turning to your dimensions and the samples C are made by turning to your diameter but .1" thick which, I repeat, is our standard thickness for this article. If the punched finish is good enough the article will be very much cheaper than the turned article. Before asking our Sales Division to quote you for gross lots can you let us know, please, whether they should be punched or turned, and if they are to be .06" or .1" thick? Yours faithfully, FERODO LIMITED JLongley. Chief Chemist & Director. Handwritten note bottom left: Mr. Longley called 10/12 said about 1/2d each. | ||
