DOUBLE REAR BRAKES. Mr. Royce has said that the first EAC. 7. should be fitted with the existing New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I rear brakes. This involves some way of carrying the cam-shafts and operating levers like the present 20HP. scheme so as to clear the semi-elliptic spring. We accordingly send herewith N.scheme 2160., shewing how the levers, brackets, and bearings for the camshafts shewn on N. schs. 2149/50 could be adapted for use with the New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I brakes. The camshafts are reduced in dia. in accordance with R's requirements for EAC. 7., and an adapting bush is fitted into the Phantom brake carrier. It is suggested that this might be detailed in order that an EAC. 7. axle may be built up as soon as possible.
