To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. EFCL/T20.8.26 X2894 IGNITION CONTACT POINTS. X4657 X2894 X4275 Answering your RL/M16.8.26, as matters stand I had arranged for the completion of my annual holiday during next week (Aug. 23rd to 28th). It happens, however, that I shall be at Littlehampton (address:- C/o Mrs. Walker, Lea House, 51, South Terrace, Littlehampton), and shall be pleased to come to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town one day, I suggest Wednesday or Thursday, 25th or 26th inst., should that be more convenient to you than postponing the visit until the following week. I can be prepared to date and can arrange to have any last hand information of importance sent to me. Provided, however, it is equally convenient to yourself, and owing to certain tests, etc. (see below) which we have in hand, which will be further advanced a week or so later, it may be more suitable to come and see you later - I suggest Friday, Sept. 3rd, if that is not too far ahead. As regards your various questions, we have had a Remy Delco nearly closed iron circuit coil, some results of which we reported in our EFCL/T1.7.26. At the present moment, comparing platinum points with English tungsten points, our experiments go to shew that the latter cannot be used, apart from the question of cost, because of the bad oxidation that occurs. We have no recorded case of them running really satisfactorily. Apparently there is a good deal of difference between American tungsten and English tungsten points. We are doing all we can to find out what this difference is. Contd. | ||
