Power plant weight - 1675 lbs approx. including airscrew.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} was doubtful of the wisdom of proceeding with an engine of this size as it is almost in the Mercury class and it is anticipated that after the War there will be large numbers of such engines on the market. He was also doubtful of the size of the market for a training aircraft of the size proposed by Phillips & Powis (11,000 lbs) - such a machine would of necessity be very expensive and the numbers required would in all probability be small. It should be borne in mind that the proposed engine would not be designed specifically for Phillips & Powis require-ments and we must look for a larger market.

Investigations to continue in JRR's section.

Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} to put up for consideration a specification for a two stroke engine.
