Attached is a further report on 93-NK car which is running in France. As regards the failure of a further connecting rod; we have sent another set of rods and pistons to be fitted to that car. The pistons were tested on a car here and the oil consumption was 900 m.p.g. approximately. We think it is difficult to judge the connecting rod fark bearing failure until we have reasonable oil consumption. The rod which has failed is one which has been on the engine the whole time. It is not one of those which was fitted when the previous failure occurred after 5,000 miles running. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
